Australia's first Carbon Neutral home loan

When you get a MyRate home loan, you also help reduce global warming. MyRate have been certified NoCO2 by the Carbon Reduction Institute. To achieve this certification, we were audited to calculate our carbon impact. Emissions were calculated from energy use, waste, employee transport, computers and phones. To make ourselves carbon neutral, we purchase carbon offsets which are spent on energy efficiency and solar energy projects. As part of our certification, we regularly monitor and report changes in our emissions.

All MyRate home loans carry the Pre-Green logo, which means the emissions produced in creating each new loan have been offset. These equal about 94kg of CO2 per loan (the equivalent of driving 330km in a standard 2L sedan).

This may sound like a lot but since ours is an online process it is significantly less than the emissions of other lenders (who have many branches and buildings).

MyRate does not pass the cost of being carbon neutral onto consumers.
